- David seems to have been the pivot point for the immigration of the Gordons and Robinsons. Also William Skelly and his brother, Alexander, were part of the immigration. Whether or not William Skelly and Margaret Jane Gordon knew each other in Belfast is unknown but that possibility does exist. They were married in Pittsburgh as the marriage certificate is on file in the Allegheny county courthouse. They lived on Dill Street which was known as Doll Alley when my mother was born. He also lived not far from where my father lived on 520 West Jefferson St. David worked in the RR shops for a while and then was a house painter. He is buried in an Armstrong plot in Uniondale #3 on Brighton Road. What relationship if any to them is unknown. He is buried in an Armstrong plot in Uniondale #3 on Brighton Road. What relationship if any to them is unknown. The only common denominator is both David and William Armstrong's head stones have a Masonic emblem. William Armstrong's obit states he was a member of Stuckrath Lodge 430 F.&A.M. This Lodge merged with McKinley Lodge 318 on 3 Sep 1985. We can assume William purchased the cemetery lot on his wife's death in 1923.
There is no direct evidence to show David K. and William B. were brothers. The evidence is indirect such as the Arrival of Margaret Jane Gordon going to her uncle David K. Gordon. Plus various stories from members of the family while they were alive. David's first wife would have known his parents but his second wife didn't when she gave the information on his death certificate.
