      Death: Jan. 13, 2008
      E.H. Trolinger, 83, died after a lengthy illness January 13, 2008, atHarlingen Medical Center.
      He was born September 7, 1924 in Barberton, Ohio, to Enoch H. andNelle Trolinger, but he was raised in Tulsa, Oklahoma.
      He graduated from Tulsa Central High School in 1942 and two days laterjoined the military along with all the boys from his senior class. Heserved in the U.S. Army during World War II. After military service hegraduated from the University of Tulsa with a degree in Sociology.Upon graduating he moved to Raymondville, joining his parents andsister, who had moved earlier. He began his career in education as theprincipal at Lyford High School.
      During this time he met his future wife, Evangeline, and they marriedon his birthday in 1951. Over the next 40 years he farmed, served asteacher, counselor, principal and superintendent of Lyford schools. Healso spent three summers driving to and from Kingsville daily toobtain his Masters in Administration. He later served as assistantsuperintendent of Harlingen CISD and superintendent of San PerlitaISD.
      He was a long time member and elder of the First Christian Church ofRaymondville and, more recently, a member of the First ChristianChurch of Harlingen. He also served as a Boy Scout Troop Master andmember of the Lyford Lion's Club. E.H. also served as a Lyford CityCommissioner and on the State Bar Grievance Committee.
      He was preceded in death by his parents, his sister Nancy CarolineSmither, and his wife Evangeline. He is survived by his children, Jim(Kelly) of Harlingen, Diane (Daryl) Lassig of Lyford/Cuero; hisgrandchildren, Shannon (Samuel) Sparks, Sarah Trolinger, and Jarrettand Hannah Lassig.
      Visitation will be held Wednesday, January 16, 2008 with the familyreceiving friends fom 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.
      Funeral services will be held on Thursday, January 17, 2008, 10 a.m.,at the First Christian Church in Harlingen with Rev. Mark Coppinsofficiating. Burial will follow at Mont Meta Memorial Park in SanBenito. Pallbearers will be Richard Johnson, Lynn Johnson, JarretLassig, Billy Lassig, Jimmy Whitfield and Lasandro Ramon.
