Greetings from Perth, Western Australia?
Please find attached the registry of death entry for my great-great grandfather Robert Meharry. (His son William was my great grandfather.) I?m still learning the intricacies of Ancestry.com and haven?t discovered which boxes I need to tick to give you access via Ancestry, so sending it this way was the easier solution!
If you need any further info about the Aus branch of the Meharry family, please let me know. I?ve only started working on Ancestry earlier this year, and at the moment I?m concentrating more on my father?s side of the family, as my initial impetus came from the realization that I didn?t know how many siblings my grandmother had! One of my mother?s cousins produced a book on the Meharry family about 30 years ago, so that?s been my main source of info so far. That covered the Aus, NZ and some of the US families.
Robert and Elizabeth?s daughter Eliza/Elizabeth was one who was a bit of a mystery to Elsie when she did her research, so any further information about her would be interesting.
Regards
Jane
By the way, the highest mountain in Western Australia is Mt Meharry, named after my mother?s first cousin Tom Meharry.
Elsie Davey (nee Kealley); Lella Meharry?s elder daughter did all the research. (on the 1986 Meharry book). I got the job of typing it up (and I mean typing ? on a little electronic typewriter). Elsie lives in Wongan Hills, which is a mid-sized country town north east of Perth. She?s in her late eighties now, and the last time I saw her (about 18 months ago) she was getting fairly frail.
