- Jewel Trolinder, 99, passed away Wednesday evening, October 19th in Crowell, Texas. A funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m., October 24th at the First Assembly of God Church. Rev. Jeremy Walters and Rev. Jason Stidham will officiate, with music by Rev. Matthew Stidham. Interment will follow at Quanah Memorial Park Cemetery.
Jewel Choat was born September 5, 1923, in Quanah to the late Dave and Cora Lee (Gooding) Choat. She was a lifetime resident of Quanah and worked as the bookkeeper for Quanah Independent School District. Jewel and Alfred Preston were married on December 25, 1943. Alfred preceded her on September 9, 1965. She later married Clifford Trolinder on April 15, 1976. Clifford preceded her on August 6, 2003. Jewel was a longtime member of the First Assembly of God Church in Quanah.
Survivors include her stepson and son-in-law, Gary Trolinder of Quanah; stepdaughter, Glenda Castillo of Fredericksburg; 5 grandchildren, Gary Al Britton Trolinder, and wife Shannon, of Dallas, Derek Trolinder of Quanah, Randy Castillo, and wife Leticia, of Elgin, Kelly Castillo of Garland, and Penny Castillo of Arlington; 2 great-granddaughters, Isabella Castillo of Elgin, and Brenna Waldrip of Amarillo; also numerous nieces and nephews.
Jewel was preceded in death by her parents; a daughter, La Freda Kay (Preston) Trolinder; 3 brothers, Joe Choat, Ralto Choat, and Robert Choat; 3 sisters, Peggy Guinn, Vivian Jones, and Mabel Konkler.
The family suggests that memorials be made to the First Assembly of God Church, 807 Dubose, Quanah, Texas 79252.
