- The family of Mr. Austin David Banks gratefully acknowledges all acts of kindness, care and concern shown during their time of bereavement and loss. May God continue to bless each of you.
Mr. Austin David Banks, age 81, of Roxboro, NC, departed this life Tuesday, April 12, 2022 at Person Memorial Hospital. He was born in Person County and a member of Olive Hill Baptist Church in Leasburg, NC.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Lonnie and Jessie Banks; a brother, Melvin Banks; and a sister, Costella Terry.
He is survived by his wife, Elaine Banks of the home; five children: Ava Johnson (Darrell) of Clarksville, TN, Angela Graves (Paul) of Roxboro, NC, Andy Banks of Greenville, NC, Anita Banks of the home and Aneetra Trollinger (Mark), also of Roxboro; six grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; five siblings: Joseph Banks, Floyd Banks, Frances Pulliam (Robert), Carolyn Hughes and Winston Villines, all of Roxboro; and a host of other relatives and friends.
The funeral service will be held Saturday, April 16, 2022 at 2:00pm at the Greater Cleggs Chapel Community Missionary Baptist Church, 2545 Surl-Mr. Tirzah Road, Timberlake, NC 27583 with the Rev. Ronald Booker, Pastor of Jones Chapel Baptist Church in Roxboro, providing the eulogy. Burial will follow in the Mill Hill Baptist Church Cemetery, 1635 Mill Hill Road, Roxboro, NC 27574.
Visitation will be Friday at the funeral home from 1:00pm to 6:00pm with the family present during the last hour from 5:00pm to 6:00pm.
His body will lie in state at the church Saturday one hour prior to the service.
- Mr. Nicholas Javon Banks, age 27, of Roxboro, NC, departed this life Wednesday, February 22, 2023 at his home in Person County. He was born May 1, 1995 in Durham, NC, but made his home in Roxboro.
He is preceded in death by his paternal grandfather, Austin Banks; maternal great-great grandmother, Alice Cunningham; maternal great-great grandfather, Sterling Cunningham; and maternal great-great uncles: Earl Cunningham and Neal Cunningham.
He is survived by a son, Nolan Nasir` Banks of Durham, NC; his mother, Renee Cunningham of Roxboro; his father, Andy Banks of Greenville, NC; siblings: Brittany Banks, Chante` Banks and Andy Banks, Jr., all of Roxboro and Anderson Banks of Greenville, NC; maternal grandmother, Mamie Whitlock of Semora, NC; paternal grandmother, Elaine Banks, also of Roxboro; maternal aunts: Kristy Morgan (Tony) of South Boston,VA and Monica Whitlock of Roxboro; paternal aunts: Ava Johnson (Darryl) of TN, Anita Banks, Aneetra Trollinger (Mark) and Angela Graves (Paul), all of Roxboro; maternal uncle, Preston Daye of Prince George, VA; paternal great-aunt, Frances Banks of Roxboro; maternal great-aunt: Elaine Winbush of Roxboro; maternal great-uncle, Leroy Cunningham of Semora; paternal great-uncles: Floyd Banks and Joseph Banks, both of Roxboro; and a host of cousins, other relatives and friends.
The family will receive visitors at the home of his grandmother at 2445 Zion Level Church Road, Semora, NC 27343.
