  residing with George as head of family and Samuel, 30, in 1870 census Will of John Archer 4th day of July 1870, Daniel Sterns and J.R. Luce being witnesses to and writing the will. The residue after his debts as follows. To his sons William, Elisha and James fifty cents. To his son Samuel he gives 30 acres in the north east corner that he lives on in Troy township Crawford County. To his son George the balance of the farm some 90 acres. He signs with his mark Will Book D page 188
