- I believe John's middle name may very well be Calvin. His sister, Mary even has a son named John Calvin McGehee who I believe recieved his name, John Calvin in honor of Mary's brother, John. DHD 21 Dec 2012
William S. Drollinger also had a son named John C.
This John C. is contemporary with W.S. and sold land with him. Allegedly married and moved to Nauvoo IL with the Mormons and died there. Allegedly sired at least 2 children Peter an idiot and Virginia who were residing with his mother, Mary Polly widow of John Jr in Weakley County TN 1850. GLD
Jno E Drollinger in the Tennessee, Early Tax List Records, 1783-1895
Name: Jno E Drollinger
Year: 1836
Residence: Wilson, Tennessee
original document has Mary with 123 acres valued at $1,000 with Jno E sic listed below her, no land, so it is safe to assume the land is hers. He may be included under his Mother as he is under the age of 21. GLD 2015

Gordon, I finally reviewed your question regarding John C Drollinger. I research the LDS Church FamilyTree File and only found his parents listed and two siblings. He was not listed. About ten years ago I was in Nauvoo and I searched the files located in the Family History Library listing all members of the LDS Church that lived in Nauvoo. The only names I found were Samuel and Rachel Drollinger, some of their children, along with Samuel's mother Hannah Kid Drollinger. If John C Drollinger went to Nauvoo and died he was not a member of the LDS Church. To live in Nauvoo and not be a member of the Church is very unlikely. Joseph Smith and the leaders of the LDS Church, when driven out of Missouri, traveled to Commerce, Illinois and purchased a large tract of land. They drained the water and prepared four lots per block for the saints to build homes. The LDS Church leaders changed the name from Commerce to Nauvoo. They have a list of all the people who owned these lots, and John C Drollinger was not listed as one. In Feb of 1846, members of the LDS Church were driven out of Nauvoo and went to the Great Salt Lake Valley. I doubt that he and his family were in that area at all.
