- PITTSVILLE - Services for Mrs. Leona May Drollinger, 69, Pittsville, will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at the United Church of Christ. Mrs. Drollinger died at 3:45 a.m. Monday at St. Joseph's Hospital in Marshfield, where she had been admitted on Sunday.
Officiating will be the Rev. Olaf Andersen, pastor, with music being provided by Larry Huebl, organist, and Nancy Kruesel, vocalist. Burial will follow in Mound Cemetery. Members of the United Church of Christ Council will serve as pallbearers.
Friends may call after 4 p.m. Wednesday at the Buchanan Funeral Home and after 10 a.m. Thursday at the church.
The former Leona May Laidlaw was born May 7, 1912 in the town of Hansen to Mr. and Mrs. George (Ida) Laidlaw and attended schools in the town of Hansen. Her first marriage to Glenn Fox ended in divorce. She later was married to Tony Vandenberg, who preceded her in death. On Feb. 7, 1957 she was married to Wilmer A. Drollinger. He died June 30, 1963.
She was employed as a cook for the Pittsville Public Schools from 1970 to 1977. She was a member of the United Church of Christ, its Mayflower Circle and Church Council.
Survivors include two sons, Roger Fox, Hewitt, and Arthur Vandenberg, Pittsville; a daughter Mrs. George (Marjorie) Wilhelm, Placerville, Calif.; three sisters, Mrs. Arthur (Irene) Nowack, Stratford, Mrs. Ida Goehring, Vesper, and Mrs. Gordon (Edythe) Kazda, Evansville; a brother, William Laidlaw, Marshfield, and four grandchildren.
A brother also preceded her in death.
