- Gary Dale Trollinger, 56, of Vacaville Calif., passed away on Nov. 24, after a long illness. His soulmate, his little girl, his pudding pop, his Stella Blue, the love of his life, his wife, Karen Trollinger, was beside him. He leaves behind his wife and his sister, Helga Pech of Landshuut, Germany. He was predeceased by his parents, Bobby and Hilde Trollinger and his brother, Jason. Also surviving him are Kelli Sechler, Nathyn Sechler, and the Bolton family of Vacaville. He left behind too many other loved ones to mention. They know who they are.
Gary was born in Baytown, Texas and traveled extensively with his military family. He settled in Vacaville in 1974 and lived there his entire life. He graduated from Vanden High School in 1974. Gary was an old hippie who loved the Grateful Dead, Umphrey's McGee, WWE wrestling, the San Francisco 49ers, road trips, and camping with his sweetie in Gualala. He will be remembered for his tie-dye, Dead tattoos, unique sense of humor, and his charm. Gary was an interesting person who left an impression on everyone who met him. His big heart was full of love. Above everything else, he was husband and best friend to his wife, Karen. If love could have saved him, he would have lived forever.
A memorial celebration will be held at 2 p.m., Saturday, Dec. 8, at McCune Garden Chapel, 212 Main St., Vacaville. A reception will follow at another location. Wearing tie dye is encouraged.
In Gary's memory, please "chillax" and play the Dead. That was his favorite thing to do..
