- Helen Anna Osborn Cotter, 80, of Mattoon, Ill., and a former area resident, died at 4:50 p.m. Friday, Jan. 30, 2004, in the Douglas Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, Mattoon.
Born June 9, 1923, in Jeffersonville, she married Homer Wesley Osborn on Sept. 2, 1948, in Oxford. He died in 1980.
She was a member of the United Methodist Church Bethany and enjoyed roses and playing bingo.
Surviving are three sons, Ron Osborn (wife: Margaret) of Pueblo, Colo., Don Osborn (wife: Donna) of Champaign, Ill., and Rev. Wesley Osborn (wife: Rinda) of Metropolis, Ill.; two daughters, Patricia Martin (husband: Bobby) of Mattoon and Rose Marie Osborn of Jacksonville; two brothers, Edward Thomas of Oxford and Ronald Lee Thomas of Anoka, Minn.; and a sister, Thelma Josephine Bice of Lafayette.
Services: 8 p.m. Monday, McMullen-Young Funeral Home, Bethany, and 2 p.m. Tuesday, Mount Gilboa Methodist Church, Fowler, Ind. Visitation: two hours before services Monday and two hours before services Tuesday. Burial:Tuesday, Mount Gilboa Methodist Church Cemetery, Fowler. Arrangements by: Epperson Funeral Chapel, Mattoon. Memorials: Mental Health Foundation.
