- Robert Jay Erickson, age 65, of Grand Junction, passed away on September 27, 2013, with family by his side at St. Mary's Hospital.
Robert "Bob" was born to Robert J. and Lorraine Erickson on May 14, 1948 in Grand Junction. Bob graduated from Grand Junction High School in 1967.
He attended one year at Mesa College, enlisting in the Air Force in 1969. He married Martha Coble of Aspen in 1969, and from this union two sons were born, Stephan, and Christopher. They later divorced. He moved to New York in 1982, returning to Grand Junction 15 years later.
He married Jacque Mitchell in 1999. She preceded him in death. Bob loved and was devoted to his son and family. He was an exceptionally caring son to his mother. He was extremely loyal to those he called friend.
He worked to perfect the career he'd chosen. He spent 11 years at Jensen Designs in Montrose. He loved the outdoors and grilling. He cared about the education of all our children. He was highly motivated with the history and political concerns of our country and happily, loudly or softly, expressed his opinions to his friends and loved ones.
Bob was preceded in death by his father, Robert J. Erickson, Sr.; son, Christopher Jon Erickson, and wife, Jacque.
Survivors include his mother, Lorraine, of Grand Junction; son, Stephan J. (Rebecca) Erickson; grandson, Connor J. Erickson, all of Denver, CO; granddaughter, Samantha (Cody) Williams, and great-grandson, Jackson Williams, all of Cheyenne, WY.
Per Bob's requests, no services are planned. Interment will be at Veteran's Memorial Cemetery at a later date.
