- Lois Ione Hauser Peterschmidt, 89, of Kahoka, MO, died December 2, 2001 at Blessing Hospital in Quincy, IL.
She was born September 10, 1912, at Medill, MO, a daughter of Albert Lee and Mary Emma Brown Brotherton.
She married George L. Hauser on February 7, 1931, at Macomb, IL and they were the parents of seven children. He preceded her in death on August 29, 1969. She later married Alvin Peterschmidt in 1972 and he preceded her in death in 1982.
Survivors include three sons, Clell Hauser and his wife, Pat of Fort Madison, IA, Max Hauser and his wife, Janice of Charlotte, NC, and Rex Hauser and his wife, Judy of Boise, ID; three daughters, Delores Sims and her husband, Gil of Benton, AR, Delia "Dedie" Priebe and her husband, Tom of Arbela, MO, and Mary Bradley of Farmington, MO; two brothers, Allen Brotherton of Moline, IL and Dale Brotherton and his wife, Patty of Rich Creek, VA; two sisters, Madeline Shore of Galesburg, IL and Catherine Crozer and her husband, Duane of Indianapolis, IN; sisters-in-law, Leota Peterson of Kahoka, MO and Virginia Rider and her husband, Bob of Indianapolis, IN; 21 grandchildren; 28 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; six step-grandchildren; and several step-great-grandchildren; as well as nieces, nephews, and other relatives.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husbands, George Hauser and Alvin Peterschmidt; a daughter, Joyce Heinze on April 26, 2001; a son-in-law, Buddy Bradley; granddaughter, Jamie Hauser; five brothers; and one sister.
Lois received her schooling in Clark County, MO. She had worked various jobs through the years, retiring from the Iowa Army Ammunition Plant. She was a member of St. Paul United Church of Christ in Kahoka, MO, was a member of the OATS Council and was contact person for Clark County. She loved growing flowers and gardening. She also loved to read, crochet, play games and travel. She had spent many hours playing cards and games with friends and with family.
Funeral services will be held Thursday, December 6, 2001, at 1:30 p.m. at Wilson Funeral Home in Kahoka, MO, with Rev. Kenneth Beckmann officiating. H.L. Plenge will be the soloist. Honorary pallbearers will be Chris Hauser, Randy Hauser, Brian Hauser, Mark Bradley, John Kerr, Eric Kerr, Mark Lobberecht, and Corey Heinze. Pallbearers will be Thomas R. Priebe, Danny Priebe, Charlie Boyer, Scott Kerr, Clinton Cohagan, and Ken Lobberecht. Burial will be in Ashton Cemetery.
Friends can call after 9:00 a.m. Wednesday, December 5, 2001, with family present 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the Wilson Funeral Home in Kahoka, MO. Memorials are suggested to the Clark County OATS. Arrangements are under the direction of Wilson Funeral Home, Kahoka, MO.
