- Kenneth W. Elsenrath, 78, Washington, passed away Wednesday, Jan. 6, 2010, at De Paul Hospital, St. Louis.
Mr. Elsenrath was born Jan. 29, 1931, in Rhineland, the son of Hugo Elsenrath and wife Selma, nee Theissen.
He was united in marriage to Mary Voss May 22, 1955, at St. Francis Borgia Church, Washington.
Mr. Elsenrath is survived by two sons, Alan Elsenrath and wife Susan, Washington, and John Elsenrath and wife Cindi, New Haven; one daughter, Lana Gildehaus and husband Kurt, Marthasville; three sisters, Geraldine Bohl and husband Ed, Hermann, and Margie Daniels and Katsie Carroll, both of St. Louis; his beloved companion, Bea Kovath and daughter Karen Kovath and son Terry Kovath and wife Jeannie, all of St. Louis; six grandchildren; one great-grandchild; other relatives and many friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and his wife, Mary E. Elsenrath on June 21, 1992.
Mr. Elsenrath served his country in the U.S. Navy. He was a member of the Elks.
Funeral services were held Saturday, Jan. 9, at Our Lady of Lourdes Church, Washington, with Father Mike Boehm officiating. Burial was in St. Francis Borgia Cemetery, Washington.
Memorials to the American Heart Association, Our Lady of Lourdes Church or the Washington High School Athletic Association are preferred.
