• Notes

  Looking carefully at his headstone inscription, it appears his middle initial is a 'W'. Because John and Sarah named one of their sons, John William Drollinger, I now suspect that John's full birth is also John William Drollinger. DHD When John Drollinger died they owned a farm near Danville, Illinois. Sarah wanted to keep the farm, and had enough sons to do the work, but the court, or whoever, wouldn't allow this as she was "only a woman". The farm was sold and each person got a share of the money. This is as related by Viola Adeline Drollinger to her granddaughter, Viola Mecum. Correspondence between Viola and Gordon L.
