- Note: The 1880 Census preview 'written' by Ancestry.com indicates an Opha Drollinger as a child of Samuel. However, when the actual document is examined, one can see that her name was entered somewhat as an afterthought squeezed in between two lines and the script is light and mostly illegible. I am not convinced her name is even "Opha" much less a child of Samuel. As Cousin Grant G. Drollinger says, "She is not listed on Samuel's Find A Grave Record" and "Maybe she was black and was a servant for the family. Maybe they adopted her and gave her the name of Drollinger. Maybe they just took her into their family. Who knows!". Additionally, Samuel's son, Bert's obit makes note that Samuel and Mary had a total of ten children. Therefore, until further evidence presents itself, we are in agreement that she was not a Drollinger nor a child of Samuel.
