"Reuben lived most of his life on a farm about three miles southeast of Veedersburg, Indiana. The house and barn are still standing and are just southwest of Bonebrake Cemetery where Reuben Drollinger and many of his ancestors and descendants are buried. Besides farming, Reuben sold Eldrige sewing machines. When a child of his was married, his wedding gift was a sewing machine. Reuben said that every wife needs a sewing machine.
