  	IDA GROVE - Services for Barbara Elaine Trullender, 74, of Ida Grove will be at 2 p.m., Thursday, Dec. 17, 2020, at Christensen-Van Houten Funeral Home in Ida Grove. The Rev. Kevin J. Freese will officiate. Burial will be in the Ida Grove Cemetery at Ida Grove. Visitation will be one hour prior to the funeral service, 1-2 p.m., at the funeral home. A Facebook Live of the service will be available on the Christensen-Van Houten Funeral Home Facebook Page. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic and the governor's proclamation, masks are mandatory, and social distancing guidelines apply during all services. During visitation, there is a limit of 15 people in the funeral home at a time. Plan accordingly. Christensen-Van Houten Funeral Home in Ida Grove is in charge of funeral arrangements. She died Dec. 11, 2020, at Good Samaritan Society-Holstein. Barbara Elaine Trullender was born April 27, 1946, to James "Jim" and Elizabeth "Lib" (Cauble) Rickert in North Carolina. Her father served in the U.S. Air Force, which led Barbara to living on multiple Air Force bases in the United States. She loved attending town festivals, collecting angels, listening to Elvis Presley and spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren. She also enjoyed Coca-Cola, doughnuts, walking, reading her Bible and being a homemaker. Holidays brought Barbara great joy, and she loved to celebrate. She enjoyed decorating and baking and treasured time with her family. Christmas, in particular, was Barbara's favorite holiday. She delighted in handing out gifts and serving a slice of her delicious pineapple upside down cake, which was requested year-round. Left to cherish her memory are her children: Tammy Trullender of Harley, Va.; Martha Ulrich of Ida Grove; Mike Ulrich of Arthur; and Richard (Salina) Ulrich of Villa Grove, Ill. Also surviving are her grandchildren: Ryan (Leia) Ladwig, Elizabeth (David) Scholten; Orry (Rebecca) Ladwig; and Kimberly Ulrich, Alexis Ulrich, Caitlyn Ulrich, Calli Ulrich, Aaron Ulrich, Makayla Ulrich, Axton Ulrich, Cora Shirley and Libby Ulrich. Additional survivors include her great-grandchildren: Gracelyn, Alexander, Kira, Melody, Ailith, Ethan, Makenna and Addison; a sister, Wendy (Bill) Courson of Winston, Ga.; two nieces: Becky (Courson) Mozley and Veronica; a nephew, Chris Courson; extended family; and friends.
