- MSG (Ret) Dewey Andrew Hart (February 16, 1938 - August 24, 2012) Dewey Andrew Hart, of Dacula, GA, passed away Friday evening, August 24, 2012. Arrangements were made by the Lawson Funeral Home, Hoschton, GA 30548.
Interment was on Friday, August 31, 2012, at the Georgia National Cemetery in Canton, Georgia.
Mr. Hart was born on February 16, 1938 in Lockhart, SC, the son of the late Lula Elizabeth Trollenger Hart West. He was retired from the US Army having proudly served his country for almost 21 years, with two tours of duty in Vietnam; 28 Oct, 1967 - 22 Oct, 1968 and 17 Jan 1970 - 15 Jan, 1971. During his military career he received many commendations including the National Defense Service Medal, Vietnam Service Medal w/1 Silver Star & 2 Bronze Stars and Distinguished Rifleman Badge. Mr Hart was a member of the Odenton Lodge #209 AF & AM in Odenton, MD and the Scottish Rite of Freemasonry, Valley of Atlanta, Atlanta, GA.
He is survived by his loving family: wife Sharon Hart, four daughters, Mona Hart of Marietta, GA, Lisa Tunstall, husband Sin of Okinawa, Elizabeth Upshaw, husband Preston of Acworth, GA, Rachel Kelley, husband Tom of Dacula, GA; sister Minnie West of Shelby, NC; seven grandchildren, Robyn, Alycia, Brett, Arianne, Natalie, Vincent and Sin.
