  John Starr Bonebrake was the eighth of ten children of John Bonebrakeand Katherine Starr. He was born 23 Jan 1829 at Fountain County,Indiana. He crossed the Plains and went to California in 1852. Hethen went back to Marion County, Iowa and married Mary ElizabethArnold. The second time he came west, he went to Shasta County,California before settling in Douglas County, Oregon in 1864. He diedin 1906 at Roseburg, Oregon.
