"Mrs A. Bonebrake Dies; Was Goldendale Pioneer
Funeral Services For Wife Of Early Day Physician Held Here Wednesday
Mrs. Letitia Ann Bonebrake, 71, wife of Klickitat county's pioneerphysician, Dr. Allen Bonebrake, died Sunday afternoon in a Portlandsanitarium, where for the past two weeks she had been undergoingtreatment for heart trouble.
Funeral services for Mrs. Bonebrake who was a resident of Goldendalefor the past 60 years, were held from the Chapman chapel Wednesdayafternoon at 2:00 p.m. with Rev. C.J. Hall, of the GoldendaleMethodist Church conducting. Interment followed in the local I.O.O.F.cemetery.
Mrs. Bonebrake is survived by her husband, Dr. Allen Bonebrake; onedaughter, Mrs. F.J. Sleeper, all of Goldendale; one son, Crede, ofPortland; two grandchildren, Jean and Donald Sleeper, both ofGoldendale; two brothers, William P. Flanary, of Portland; and JasperFlanary, of Olympia. One son, Holt Bonebrake died in 1904.
The daughter of Thomas Green and Emily Jane Flanary, Mrs. Bonebrakewas born in Forest Grove, Oregon , March 22, 1867. Her parents came toOregon in 1851. The Flanary family moved to Goldendale in 1878 and forseveral years resided on a farm in the Number Six section ofKlickitat.
Dr. and Mrs. Bonebrake, who were married in Goldendale June 3, 1885,celebrated their golden wedding anniversary in 1935. Mrs. Bonebrake'sdeath came only three months before their fifty-third anniversary.
For the past year Mrs. Bonebrake has been in failing health. Two weeksago she was taken to Portland to undergo treatment for the seriousheart ailment that resulted in her death Sunday afternoon."
