- Anne E (Ralston) Turbitt -- Warwick
Anne Turbitt, 85, of Byron Blvd., died Friday at the home of her daughter, Joyce H. DiStefano of Cranston. She was the wife of the late John H. Turbitt.
Born in Providence, she was the daughter of the late George W. and Anne (Spencer) Ralston. A 60 year Warwick resident, Mrs. Turbitt was a sales clerk at Merlin's Pharmacy where she was known for her cheerfulness and caring service to the customers, before retiring in 1977. She also worked at the former Grant's and Shepard's Department Stores.
Besides her daughter Joyce she leaves two son, John H. Turbitt, Jr., Vero Beach, FL and William E. Turbitt of Overland Park, KS. One sister, Joan Ucci, Portland CT, two brothers, Charles Thurber, Las Vegas, NV and Ted Thurber, Silver Springs, CO. Eight grandchildren and five great grandchildren. She was the sister of the late Barbara Howe.
The funeral will be Tuesday at 9:00 a.m. from the Frank P. Trainor & Sons Funeral Home, 982 Warwick Ave., Warwick. Mass at 10:00 a.m. Calling Hours Monday 5:00-8:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers donations in her memory to Down Syndrome Society of RI, 99 Bald Hill Rd., Cranston, RI 02920.
