Herb was born in Evansville, Indiana on August 23, 1935, to the late Herbert and Mildred J. (Drewlinger) Walden. He was a Reitz High School graduate and honorably served in the United States Navy. After his time in the service, Herb worked as an optician. He was an amateur actor and performed at the Civic Theatre. Herb was fascinated with computers, telescopes, microscopes, and enjoyed gardening and taking walks.
Herb is survived by his wife of 41 years, Betty (Greenwell) Walden of Evansville, IN; daughter, Rebecca Walden of Richland, IN; sister, Beverly J. Smith (Jesse) of Henderson, KY; six nieces; and two nephews.
Herb was preceded in death by his daughter, Roberta Maynard; sister, Patricia J. White; and his parents.
A family graveside service will be held at 2:00 PM at Memorial Park Cemetery on Monday, May 18, 2020.
