Lois Bobbitt, 94, of Amarillo died Sunday, May 1, 2011.
Graveside services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday in Llano Cemetery withthe Rev. Alan Williamson, chaplain of Park Central Retirement Center,officiating. Arrangements are by Boxwell Brothers Funeral Directors,2800 Paramount Blvd.
Mrs. Bobbitt was born March 1, 1917, in Cleburne to Henry Grady andGoldie Pond Persons. She married Glenn Bobbitt on May 15, 1937, southof Canyon at the family home. They had a beautiful life together formore than 72 years.
Lois will always be remembered for her love of life, family andfriends. She never stepped out the door without looking like a visionof beauty. After retirement, she and Glenn spent many years travelingin their motor home, enjoying the experience of meeting new people andseeing many different states. She had wide range of interestsincluding golf, crafts, cooking and playing bridge. She will be missedvery much.
Lois was a member of First Christian Church in Amarillo. She loved theLord and often spoke of how she had been so blessed.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Glenn, in 2009; a daughter,Jan; a sister, Wynelle Harlan; and two brothers, W.B. and GlennPersons.
Survivors include a brother, Dana Persons; and several nieces,nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.
The family suggests memorials be to BSA Hospice, P.O. Box 950,Amarillo, TX 79105; First Christian Church, 3001 Wolflin Ave.Amarillo, TX 79109; or a favorite charity.
