- Mrs. Ann Cates Moore, 87, of Burlington died Sunday, May 26, 2013, following a brief illness. She was born in Chapel Hill, NC, raised in Durham, NC, graduated from Durham High School and East Carolina University. She taught in the Burlington School System for five years.
She was the daughter of the late Clyde Lucius Cates and Eva Glade Hogan Cates.
For many years she was an active member of the Front Street United Methodist Church having served on various committees and boards.
She was an Honorary Member of the Service League, a former member of the Memorial Hospital Auxiliary, the Ex Libris Book Club, a former member of the Daughters of the American Revolution, Docent of Alamance County Historical Museum and Alamance County Historical Association.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Richard Joseph Moore and a brother, Clyde Hogan Cates.
Surviving are her daughter, Andrea Moore Liverman and husband Gerry W. Liverman and a nephew, Richard W. Cates.
Graveside services will be held 2:00 PM, Wednesday, May 29, at Pine Hill Cemetery with Rev. Marshall Old officiating.
