Walter Allen Racey, Jr., age 65 and a resident of Salisbury, NC, died on April 14, 2016. He was born on December 13, 1950 in Biloxi, MS, to Walter Allen Racey, Sr. and Irma Lew Racey.
He is preceded in death by his father, Walter Allen Racey, Sr., his mother Irma Lew Racey, his daughter Krissy Racey Summers and his mother-in-law Dottie Riggs.
He is survived by his beloved wife, Jeannine Gaudion-Racey; his siblings, Paula Lynn Lee (Roger Wayne) and Michael Dean Racey (Annette); his children, Kimmy Racey Kraeer (Jason), John Shaner, Wesley Shaner (Rosemary) and Jackie Shaner Vines (Brett); his grandchildren, Christopher Fernandez, Brandon Fernandez, Emily Kraeer, Jacey Kraeer, Charlotte Peters and Harrison Peters; and many nieces and nephews.
Allen graduated from Biloxi High School and Perkinston Junior College. He honorably served in the United States Air Force. He later went on to earn degrees from MGCCC for Nursing and Culinary Arts. He was a professional musician for many years and later worked as an independent contractor. Some of his passions in life included his family, music, cooking and all his loyal dogs.
A Celebration of Life service is scheduled for 2:00 PM, Sunday, May 22 at New Hope Baptist Church, 17430 Landon Road, Gulfport, with a visitation/reception following the service.
