- Roger W. Cutler, 87, Arpin, died Friday, Jan. 16, 2009, at SaintJoseph's Palliative Care, Marshfield.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 a.m. Monday, at St.Mary's Catholic Church, Auburndale. The Rev. Bernard Raschke willofficiate and music will be provided by St. Mary's Choir andcongregational singing. Burial will take place in St. Mary's Cemetery;his grandsons will serve as pallbearers. The visitation will be heldfrom 2 p.m. until 6 p.m. Sunday, at Rembs Funeral Home, Marshfield,and from 9:30 a.m. until service time Monday at St. Mary's Church.
Mr. Cutler was born April 1, 1921, in Arpin, to Percy and Sadie(Cowell) Cutler. He was a graduate of Auburndale High School and wasthe first president of the Auburndale FFA. He and Lucy A. Drollingerwere married Oct. 20, 1941, in Vesper. She died Sept. 20, 1997. TheCutlers farmed in the town of Arpin. Roger had been a 4-H Dairy Leaderfor a number of years. He was a charter member, and served on theboard of directors, of the Wisconsin Guernsey Breeders Association. In1954, Roger was selected as the "Young Farmer of the Year" by theMarshfield Jaycees. He also served on the board of directors of theCentral Wisconsin State Fair, in Marshfield, for many years, and wassuperintendant of the Dairy Cattle Show at the fair for 29 years. In1976, he sold his herd of registered guernseys. He then worked as aroute salesman for Jacobsen Dairy Supply and, in 1983, became a dairyplant fieldman for Edelweiss Cheese Company of Marshfield. In 1991, hewas named Dairy Plant Representative of the year. He had served on theAuburndale School Board and on the pastoral council of St. Mary'sCatholic Church.
He is survived by two daughters, Kathy (Ron) Kohls, Mosinee, and Lucie(Harry Larsen) Cutler. He is also survived by 10 grandchildren, Greg(Pam) Kohls, Dave (Diane) Kohls, Carmen (Vince) Iwanski, Cassandra(Daniel) Funk, Travis Weiler, Brian (Jen) Cutler, Gary (Jennie)Cutler, Kim Bowman, Jeff (Jessi) Cutler, and Kevin (fiance Heidi)Cutler; and 14 great-grandchildren. He is further survived by adaughter-in-law, Sharon Cutler, Rhinelander; and a special friend,Jennie Drollinger.
He was predeceased by his parents; his wife, Lucy; two sons, Dick andDon Cutler; and a grandson.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be designated in his name to St.Mary's Renovation Projects.
