- Anne L. Drollinger, 81, passed away on Monday, Oct. 22, 2012 at Agrace HospiceCare in Fitchburg.
She was born Dec. 10, 1930 in Kilbourn, the daughter of Ronald "Jake" and Celia Morse Drollinger. Anne graduated from Wisconsin Dells High School and St. Francis School of Nursing in La Crosse. Anne's nursing career included St. Francis, Madison General Hospital (now Meriter), Bone and Joint Clinic and the American Red Cross Blood Mobile. She was a devoted sports fan, especially of the Packers, Badgers, Cubs and Brewers. She continued her lifelong love of reading until she could no longer hold a book and was an original member of the R&D Book Club in Wisconsin Dells. Anne loved to travel both at home and abroad and was a member of the Dells Historical Society. Words cannot begin to explain Anne's roll in her family: Spring trips with her mother, sisters and nieces and nephews, summers spent with everyone at the Lake Ripley "cottage", canning in the fall and Christmas shopping and baking to round out the year. She's been there for weddings, birthdays, graduations and retirements. Her picture albums tell it all.
Anne is survived by her sisters, Barbara Jean Drollinger and Shari (Larry) Haugen; sister-in-law, Leah Drollinger, nieces and nephews, Dana (Troy) Matz, Mike (Tina) Drollinger, Patrick Drollinger, Melissa (Dan) Carlson, Erik (Tracie) Haugen, Jennifer (Marc) McCright; 16 great-nieces and nephews, a special cousin, Judy Carter Penton, other relatives and many dear friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents and a brother, Jake Drollinger.
Funeral services will be held at Bethany Lutheran Church, 620 Broadway, Wisconsin Dells at 11 a.m. on Monday, Oct. 29, with the Rev. Craig Wolfgram presiding. Visitation will be on Monday from 9 a.m. until the services at the church.
