Funeral services for Joyce Opal Felts, 79, of Lamesa will be held 2 p.m. Friday, October 17, 2008 at Branon Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Walter McCall officiating under the direction of Branon Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Lamesa Memorial Park. Visitation was Thursday, October 16, 2008 from 6 to 8 p.m. at Branon Funeral Home.
Joyce died on Tuesday, October 14, 2008 at Sage Healthcare Center in Lamesa. She was born on May 20, 1929 in Hardeman County to Hubert and Hettie Runnels. She married A.J. Felts on June 7, 1946 Odessa. Joyce had been a member of the First Baptist Church for the past 38 years. She loved her job as a telephone operator with G.T.E from which she retired.
Survivors include her husband, A.J. Felts of Lamesa; daughter, Jeralynn Romine of O'Donnell; son, Eddie Joe Felts of Lamesa; two brothers, Burt Runnels of Archer City and Burl Runnels of Lubbock; five grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, brother, and two sisters.
