- Funeral services for Sam M. Cole, 63, Borger, were at 11 a.m. today at First Christian Church with the Rev. Brad Reeves, pastor of Wesley United Methodist Church, officiating, assisted by the Rev. Robert Smith, pastor of First Christian Church.
Graveside services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Oakhill Cemetery in Cassville, Mo., with the Rev. Gary Reed officiating.
Arrangements are by Minton-Chatwell Funeral Directors of Borger.
Mr. Cole died Tuesday, Aug. 13, 1991 in High Plains Baptist Hospital in Amarillo.
A native of Cassville, Mo., he had been a Borger resident since 1950. He owned his own dry cleaning business for 35 1/2 years and retired June 30, 1989.
He was a member of First Christian Church, and a World War II U.S. Army veteran, member of Adobe Walls Lodge No. 1355, Scottish Rites of Lubbock, Shriner of Khiva Temple in Amarillo, and was past president of Texas Dry Cleaners Association.
He was a graduate of Oklahoma Military Academy in Claremore, Okla., and graduated from Oklahoma A&M Dry Cleaning Trade School in Okmulgee, Okla.
Survivors include his wife, Connie White Cole; a son, Michael M. Cole of Portland, Ore., a daughter, Teresa Cole Nilsen of West River, Md.; three stepdaughters, Teresa White Edmison of Pampa, Vanesa White Monk of Stinnett, and Holly White Hopkins of Portland, Texas; a stepmother, Norma Jean Cole of Owasso, Okla; and seven step-grandchildren.
Pallbearers were J.D. Pavillard, Vance Bogart, Steve Cross, Jack King, Buster Caviness, and Jim Forney.
Honorary pallbearers were member of the Adobe Walls Masonic Lodge No. 1355.
Memorials may be made to Wesley United Methodist Church, First Christian Church, or a favorite charity.
