CHESTER, Va. - William Carl Wisegarver Jr., 86, of Chester, Va., passed away Wednesday, May 9, 2007.
He was a member of Elks Lodge 378, and a 52-year member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Hagerstown, Md.
Mr. Wisegarver Jr. was a veteran of the U.S. Navy, and retired from the Washington County Board of Education as a utilities employee after 30 years of service. He loved woodworking as a hobby.
He is survived by his wife of 55 years, Kathryn B. Wisegarver; one son, William C. Wisegarver III and wife, Terry, of Chester; three grandchildren, Jaime, Benjamin and Samuel Wisegarver; two sisters, Elizabeth Lehman of Rockville, Md., and Vivian Kepler of Williamsport, Md.; and many nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends Sunday, May 13, 2007, from 4 to 6 p.m. at Minnich Funeral Home, 415 E. Wilson Blvd., Hagerstown. A funeral service will take place Monday at 11 a.m. at the funeral home. Interment will follow in Cedar Lawn Memorial Park, Hagerstown.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions be made to American Cancer Society, 1037 Haven Road, Hagerstown, MD 21740.

WILLIAM CARL WISEGARVER, JR., age 86, of Chester, Virginia passed away on Wednesday, May 9, 2007.
