Clifford Drollinger, 75, of 1531 Sherwood Court, Wisconsin Rapids, died Thursday, Oct. 13, 2005, in the Palliative Care Unit of Saint Joseph's Hospital in Marshfield.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Monday at St. Luke's Lutheran Church in Wisconsin Rapids. The Rev. Timothy Wenger will officiate. Burial will be in Restlawn Memorial Park, with military rites proved by American Legion Post 9.
Cliff was born April 28, 1930, in Sherry, to Leo and Viola (Lingford) Drollinger. He married Margaret (Peg) Callaway on Oct. 7, 1950, at St. Luke's Lutheran Church in Wisconsin Rapids.
He worked at Wisconsin Valley Creamery until entering the U.S. Navy in 1951. After serving his country for four years during the Korean War, he and his wife returned to Wisconsin Rapids. He worked at the Port Edwards mill in the finishing room before becoming self-employed as Drollinger Builders Inc. In his 30 years of business he developed Golf View Estates, Country Village Estates, Timberline Addition to Timber Valley and Green Acres Estates.
He was an active member of the Wisconsin Rapids Lions Club. He also was a member of the American Legion Post 9, where he served as adjutant. He was an honorary member of the Wisconsin Home Builders Association, where he was past president, builder of the year and lifetime spike member. He was a member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church, prior to St. Luke's. Cliff served as an elder at St. Paul's Lutheran Church.
He loved his family. He loved camping, boating and traveling in the motorhome and wintering in Texas.
Survivors include his wife, Peg; five children, Debra of Neillsville, Edward (Deb) Drollinger, Brian Drollinge, and Jean (Scott) Panko, all of Wisconsin Rapids, and Keri (Rick) Parmeter of Eau Claire; his grandchildren, Michael, Christopher and Kelsey Sebesta, Chad Ladick, Amanda, Tony and Perry Drollinger, Travis, CalliLou and Leanne Drollinger, Joey Fredrick and Jada Panko, and Katie, Rick and Benjamin Parmeter; three sisters, Donna (Wilmer) Burgeson, Joyce (Don) Lee, and Carolyn (David) Freund; and one brother, Francis (Carol) Drollinger.
He was preceded in death by his parents; one brother, Wesley; one sister, Vivian Hanneman; and two brothers-in-law, Peter Lawler and Bob Hanneman.
Visitation will be from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. Sunday at Taylor Funeral Home in Wisconsin Rapids, and at the church from 10 a.m. until time of services Monday.
Memorials may be designated to the Foundation of Saint Joseph's Hospital Palliative Care Unit, St. Luke's Lutheran Church or to Riverview Hospital Auxiliary's Love Lights.
