Survivors include her husband, Vernon Mathes, Oates; son, Shawn Mathes, Sedalia; brother, Carter Volner and wife, Christine, Salem; and sister, Betty Johnson, Salem.
Preceding her in death were her parents; brothers, Silas, Coell and Buell Volner; sisters, Gladys Overfelt, Geneva Mathes, Audrey Hinsen and two infants.
Mrs. Mathes was a member of the Locust Grove United Baptist Church.
