Funeral services for Thomas C. "Tom" Moore, 79, of Waynesboro, were held Monday, June 16, 2008, from the Freeman Funeral Home Chapel in Waynesboro, with Dr. Steve Smith officiating. Interment was in the Serenity Gardens Cemetery in Waynesboro. Born May 26, 1929, Moore was a native of Oklahoma City, Okla., and worked as a petroleum engineer for L.A. Land and Exploration Co. He died Thursday, June 12, 2008, at Wayne General Hospital in Waynesboro. Survivors include his wife, Pat Moore of Waynesboro; a son, Thomas Moore Jr., of Daphne, Ala.; two daughters, Donna Nazary and husband Michael of Atlanta, Ga., and Carol Evans and husband Phillip of Charlotte, N. C.; a his sister, Betty Tippen and husband Delton of Troy, Texas; four grandchildren, Ben Evans and Sarah Evans of Charlotte, N. C., Nichole Sullivan and husband Daniel of Atlanta, Ga., and Jason Nazary of New York City, N. Y.; and three great-grandchildren, Jacob, Kirsten and Lorelei Sullivan, all of Atlanta, Ga. He was preceded in death by his mother, Bertha Moore; his father, Cloros Moore; and two brothers, Charles and Jerry Moore. Freeman Funeral Home of Waynesboro was in charge of arrangements.
