- Clara Almira Myers was one of six children born to Pearl Kay (Trullinger) and Marrel Henry Snyder. She was born on January 23, 1928 in Farragut, Iowa. Clara graduated from the Malvern High School in 1946.
Clara's first job was working behind the soda counter at Collins Drug Store in Malvern, Iowa where she enjoyed serving her favorite customer and future husband, extra large chocolate malts. Clara and Dwight Eugene Myers were united in marriage at the Christian Church Parsonage in Glenwood, Iowa on March 10, 1948. Dwight and Clara lived in Malvern until 1952 when they moved to Glenwood. Dwight and Clara's marriage was blessed by the birth of a son Rick, and three daughters, Deb, Diana, and Donna.
As well as being a homemaker and mother, Clara was Glenwood's distributer for the Omaha World Herald and then worked in the food service department at the Glenwood State Hospital School. Her husband Dwight worked at Roth Packing Plant in Glenwood, Spiker's Feed and Grain in Malvern, and for the Iowa Department of Transportation. After retirement in 1988, Dwight and Clara loved spending the winters in Apache Junction, Arizona up until the time of Dwight's death in 1998, shortly after celebrating their 50th wedding anniversary. After Dwight's passing, Clara enjoyed volunteering at the Mills County Museum in Glenwood. She also enjoyed playing cards, watching her Bluebirds, and spending time at the Senior Center with her friends.
