- ROCKPORT - James E. "Shakey" Higdon, 68, of Rockport, passed away Friday, Feb. 27, 2015, at his home.
James was born Jan. 10, 1947, in Knottsville, Ky., to the late B.J. and Mary (Cecil) Higdon.
Jim is survived by his wife, Susie Higdon of Rockport and his siblings, Mary Hurm of Philpot, Ky.; Mary Opal Bryant of Edgewater, Fla.; Ernest Bugs Higdon of Stanley, Ky.; Martha Decker and Jo Ann Hagan, both of Chrisney and Clara Harvey, Joe Higdon and Bill Higdon, all of Rockport.
Services were Monday, March 2, at St. Bernard Catholic Church in Rockport, with the Rev. Ron Kreilein officiating. Burial was in Oak Grove Cemetery in Rockport with Rockport American Legion Post 254 conducting military honors.
Boultinghouse Funeral Home in Rockport was entrusted with care. A Masonic service was held Sunday at the funeral home.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Tony Higdon Memorial Scholarship at South Spencer.
