Notes - John Thomas Barrett was born on 05 Jul 1842 near Rushville, Meigs County, Ohio to James Barrett and Margaret (Butt) Barrett. He died on 04 Sep 1900 at the age 58. He married Margaret E. Seabolt on 18 Mar 1869. They were the parents of three children, one of whom died in infancy and William Lee Barrett and Jesse Cross Barrett. Margaret died in 1874.
After Margaret's death, John married Margaret Ann "Maggie" Silvers on 14 Sep 1876. They were the parents of six sons: Floyd, Ora Lafayette, George Emmett, Charles Lloyd, Rowe Dean, and Alpha Silvers.
