RICHMOND 77 John Franklin Drollinger, 75, loving husband, father and grandfather passed away on March 9, 2003, at the Logan Nursing and Rehabilitation Center.
He was born April 13, 1927, in Roosevelt, Utah to Franklin Sylvanus and Hazel Lucetta Hardman Drollinger. He was the third of eight children.
John attended school at North Cache High School. John worked as a brakeman on the railroad and he also worked for Cove Concrete. He retired as a machinist from USU Space Dynamics Lab making parts for rockets.
John was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He was called as a stake high priest group secretary, ward genealogist, Sunday school president, teacher and stake missionary.
He was an avid genealogist. He loved to do things with his family. He loved anything cowboy, the desert and his dessert.
He married Jill Cheshire on Jan. 16, 1959, in the Mesa, Ariz. Temple.
He is survived by his wife, Jill, and his children, Tammy Heslop (Rod) of Oregon, Joy Steiger (Ferrin) of Texas, Sally Cheatham (Karl) of Logan, Mark Drollinger (Valerie) of New Mexico, Roger Drollinger (Kris) of Clarkston, Rick Drollinger (Tracy) of Roy, Kevin Drollinger (Angie) of Hyrum, Amy Wells (David) of Logan, Stephen Drollinger (Susie) of Arizona, and Pam Huffman (Russell) of New Mexico. He was preceded in death by his parents, two sisters, a brother and a grandson. He has 26 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at noon, Friday, March 14, at the Richmond Stake Center, 135 W. Main St., Richmond, with Bishop Larry Larson conducting. Family and friends may call at the Allen-Cranney Mortuary, 420 E. 1800 North, North Logan on Thursday evening from 6 to 8 p.m. and at the Stake Center on Friday from 10:30 to 11:30 a.m. prior to the funeral.
The family would especially like to thank the care givers at Logan Nursing and Rehabilitation Center for all the love and care given to John.
