Funeral service for Phyllis L. Neuenschwander, 86, of Fairmont will be 10:30 a.m. Saturday at St. John?s United Church of Christ in Fairmont with burial following at Fairview Memorial Park in Fairmont. Visitation will be 5:00 ? 7:00 p.m. Friday at the Lakeview Funeral Home in Fairmont and will continue for one hour prior to the service at the church on Saturday.
Phyllis passed away Monday, September 24, 2012 at her residence at the Goldfinch Estates in Fairmont.
Phyllis LaVaugh Trullinger was born on December 8, 1925 in Madelia, MN, the daughter of Floyd and Florence (Pederson) Trullinger. She attended country school in Madelia. On October 8, 1945 she was united in marriage to Clifford Neuenschwander at the Little Brown Church in Nashua, IA. They lived in Fairmont before moving to a farm near Northrop in 1949. Phyllis helped Clifford on the farm and worked at Harold?s Supper Club in Northrop for many years. They moved to Fairmont in 2007 and Clifford passed away on July 19 of that same year. Phyllis was a member of St. John?s United Church of Christ and the Lee C. Prentice American Legion Post 36 Auxiliary.
Survivors include three children, Dennis Neuenschwander and his wife, Shirley, of Fairmont, Barb Kotewa and special friend, Bob Altman, of Fairmont, Cindy Wolter and her husband, Roger, of Coon Rapids, MN; grandchildren, Tammy Selnes (Monty), Garry Neuenschwander, Lee Sjolander (Rebecca), Todd Kotewa (Eva), Tracy Kotewa (Jessie), Chad Wolter, Danette Hoeft (Jeff), Tonya Schmitz (Dean), Dominic Wolter (Leah); 11 great grandchildren, Brady, Jordan, Cameron, Logan, Tyler, Faith, Grace, Cody, Cory, Brittney, Courtney and Anthony; sister, Darlene Montgomery of West Concord, MN; two brothers, Clifford Trullinger of Madelia, Larry Trullinger and his wife, Sheryl, of Madelia; sisters-in-law, Leona Bench of Fairmont, Helen Hanson and her husband, Carl, of Austin, MN, Darlyne Espelund and her husband, Jerry, of Omaha, NE; many nieces and nephews, other relatives and friends.
In addition to her parents, Floyd and Florence Trullinger and her husband, Clifford, Phyllis was also preceded in death by one son, Douglas Lee Neuenschwander; granddaughter, Bobby Jo Neuenschwander; great granddaughter, Josephene Kay Kotewa; several other brothers-in-law and a sister-in-law. [end]
