- Loyde "Dwane" Newman, age 86, of Raymore, Missouri passed away on Sunday, May 13, 2018, at Research Medical Center in Kansas City, Missouri.
Visitation will be held from 6:00-8:00 p.m., Thursday, May 17, 2018, at Cullen Funeral Home. Funeral service will begin at 10:00 a.m., Friday, May 18, at Cullen Funeral Home. Graveside service will take place at 1:00 p.m., later that day at the Laurel Oak Cemetery in Windsor, Missouri.
Memorial Contributions may be given to the St. Jude's Children's Hospital (st.jude.org).
Dwane was born on January 11, 1932, in Lincoln, Missouri. He was the son of Perry Newman and Edna (Trollinger) Newman.
On November 5, 1954, Dwane was united into marriage with Norma Call. Together, Dwane and Norma were blessed with two children, Robert and Linda. In 1972, together they built a home on a farm in Raymore, Missouri, where they remained for the rest of their lives together.
Dwane entered into the United States Armed Forces and proudly served his country during the Korean War.
Dwane lovingly supported his family working as an auto body man until he went on to become an auto claims adjuster for American Family Insurance Company, where he remained until his retirement.
He was a 3rd degree Mason of Lodge #337 of Blue Springs, Missouri.
He was preceded in death by his wife of 63 years, Norma Lee Newman (April 12, 2018); his parents, Perry and Edna Newman; his brothers, Leroy, Dale and Larry Newman; nephews, Robert L. Call and LD Newman.
Dwane is survived by his son, Robert "Bob" Lee Newman and wife Deana; daughter, Linda Diane Logan and husband Arlen; nine grandchildren, Cody Newman (Rebecca), Joshua Newman (Brittni), Amy Bowden (Matt), Casey Soland, Clay Soland, Khristen Hammond (Dan), Cheyenne Logan, Levi Logan, and Ashley Stark (James); and 10 great-grandchildren.
