Notes - According to his granddaughter, Patricia Ann Trolinger-Larson, Ellis hated his middle name which she thought was pronounced 'La-Fate' but wasn't sure.
In an email to me dated 20 Sep 2012, Dorothy informed me about her father's middle name: "I asked Dad about his middle name. He said that there is no middle name on his birth certificate. When he joined the army they told him he had to have a middle name. It is Lafate not Lafayette.". (David H. Drollinger 20 Sep 2012)
