MILITARY SERVICES SET DECEMBER 2
Full military services will be conducted for S/Sgt. Edward R. Beahm, who was killed in Italy during World War II, at the Yamhill Christian church at 2 p.m. December 2. Burial will be at the Firlawn cemetery, Hillsboro. Rev. Putman will officiate.
Beahm enlisted in the service in 1943, after coming to Yamhill in 1937. At the time of his death, he was owner of B&W Packing plant. He was a member of the 10th mountain division of the Army Ground Forces. Beahm was killed in action March 9, 1945. He received his army training at Camp Hale, Colo., and Camp Swift, Tex. He was sent to Italy in January, 1945.
Born in Concordia, Kan., February 19, 1918, he was married December 7, 1941 to Miss Jeanette O. Eustice. A daughter, Jeanne, was born eight days after her father's death. He had lived here since 1937, and was a member of the Christian church.
His survivors include, in addition to his widow, a son, Richard, of Yamhill, 19-months-old at the time of his father's death; a daughter, Jeanne; his mother, Mrs. Florence Rogers of Salem, and Father, Roy Beahm of Yamhill; a brother, Charles W. Beahm of Yamhill, and three sisters, Mrs. Don Baird and Mrs. Don Smith, both of Oakland, Oregon, and Mrs. H.R. Young of Los Angeles.
Services are under the direction of the Laughlin-Orr post American Legion, of Yamhill.
