ALLAN E. PARRY
Allan E. Parry, 89, of Lake Shore, Utah, died Monday, November 22,
2004, at the home of his daughter. Allan was born August 21, 1915, in
Garfield, Salt Lake, Utah, the eldest of five children
to David William and Icy Dora Drollinger Parry. After his mother?s
death in 1925 (note, this date is in error! According to her death certificate, she died 14 July 1926), he was taken into the home of Thomas M. and Josephine
Lewis Anderson where he grew to manhood. He attended elementary
schools in Ioka, Payson and Lake Shore, Utah. He graduated from
Spanish Fork High School
He married Rubye Youd on January 15, 1936, in the Salt Lake Temple.
They were the parents of four children. She died April 23, 2000.
Allan worked for Del Monte Canning Company, Pacific States Cast Iron
Pipe Company, and Utah State Hospital. He enjoyed working on his farm.
He was a good marksman and had success deer and pheasant hunting. He
was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, serving
in various positions.
He is survived by a daughter, JoseAnn (Daven) Engle, Lake Shore; two
sons: Robert Allan Parry, Central, Utah, and Dee Y. (Linda) Parry, St.
George, Utah; a sister, Eva Souter, Seattle, Washington; and 12
grandchildren, 21 great-grandchildren, and two
great-great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents,
foster parents, wife, daughter, Evalyn Kellogg, granddaughter, Debra
Ostler, grandsons, Thomas Ostler and Parry Engle, sister, Margaret
Parry, and two brothers, Roswell Parry and Floyd (Shirley) Parry.
Viewing will be Friday November 26, 2004, from 6 to 8 p.m. at Walker
Family Mortuary, 187 South Main, Spanish Fork, Utah. Services will be
at 11 a.m. on Saturday, November 27, 2004 in the Lake Shore Ward
Chapel, 5916 South 3200 West, with a short viewing prior to the
services. Interment will be in the Spanish Fork City Cemetery.
