      MRS. ELIZA J.MOELLER, WIDOW OF OTTO H. MOELLER, WHO DIED IN 1860, PASSED AWAY THURSDAY MORNING AT 1 O'CLOCK AFTER AN ILLNESS OF ELEVEN YEARS FROM RHEUMATISM. HER DEATH OCCURRED AT THE FAMILY RESIDENCE 975 NORTH MAIN STREET.
      MISS ELIZA PARDEE WAS BORN DEC 9, 1823 IN HOMERSET, PERRY COUNTY, OHIO AND SHE WAS IN HER EIGHTY SIXTH YEAR AT THE TIME OF HER DEATH. SHE HAD LIVED IN DECATUR FOR FIFTY YEARS COMING HERE WITH HER HUSBAND AND FAMILY IN 1859 FROM QUINCY, ILL WHEN DECATUR WAS A SMALL TOWN.

      STRONG IN CHARACTER
      SHE WAS A WOMAN OF GREAT STRENGTH OF CHARACTER. SHE UNITED WITH ST JOHNS EPISCOPAL CHURCH SOON AFTER COMING HERE AND HAD BEEN IDENTIFIED WITH THE SAME CHURCH FOR HALF A CENTURY. SHE WAS A DAUGHTER OF DR. DAVID PARDEE A PHYSICIAN OF NOTE IN SOUTHERN OHIO AND A HALF SISTER OF DR. GEORGE DOMAN WHO WAS A PROMINENT PHYSICIAN IN DECATUR IN THE 1860S.
      SHE LEAVES FIVE CHILDREN, MRS. OTTORIA A ALEXANDER AND WILLIAM J MOELLER, WHO MAKE THEIR HOME WITH HER ON N MAIN STREEET. GEORGE E MOELLER OF DECATUR, MRS. A MILTON LAPHAM OF ST LOUIS, LOUIS K MOELLER OF GALENA KS. ONE SON HENRY B MOELLER DIED IN 1874. SHE ALSO LEAVES SEVENTEEN GRANDCHILDREN AND TWO GREAT GRANDCHILDREN.
