- Jimmie Dale Laswell, 64, of Fulton, Missouri passed away Wednesday, September 26, 2007 at Barnes Jewish Hospital in St. Louis, Missouri. He was born August 22, 1943 in Fulton, Missouri a son of the late Jim Vernon and Fern C. (Osborn) Laswell. On December 23, 1965 he was united in marriage to Mattie Dee Newsom who survives at the home.
In addition to his wife of forty-one years, he will be sadly missed and lovingly remembered by two sons, Vernon Lee Laswell and his wife Donna of Fulton, Missouri and Joey Dale Laswell of Fulton, Missouri; one daughter, Celena Gale Reed and her husband James of Fulton, Missouri; one brother, William Laswell and his wife Carolyn of Fulton, Missouri; one sister, Barbara Ketterman and her husband John of Fulton, Missouri; one step-brother, Robert White of Mexico, Missouri; two step-sisters, Robin Rascher of Lake St. Louis, St. Louis, Missouri and Penny Nevins of Jefferson City, Missouri; nine grandchildren, Joe Derek Laswell, Chad Laswell, Emily Laswell, Floyd Stuart Laswell, Connie Stuart, Melissa Lawson, Amanda Vincent, Jennifer Stuart, and Shawn Bedford; thirteen great-grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews; other relatives and many dear friends. His parents and one great-grandchild preceded him in death.
Jimmy had many interesting jobs, his last was his favorite. He started as a volunteer then became an employee of Serve, Inc. He was a member of the First Baptist Church of Fulton and the Masonic Lodge in Indiana. He enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Jimmie reconfirmed his belief in Christ in April of this year.
Funeral services will be 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, September 29, 2007 at the Maupin Funeral Home in Fulton, Missouri with Pastor Bruce Williamson officiating. Visitation will be from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. on Friday, September 28, 2007 at Maupin Funeral Home in Fulton, Missouri. Memorial services and inurnment will be at Atterberry-Benskin Cemetery at a later date.
