Thanks for getting back to me so quickly. I am not the daughter of Clark Vernon and Mary (they were my godparents). My father Wyman Willard Swanson was my father. Clark and Mary didn't have any direct children (although they tried hard) They had one adopted child named Roger Clark Swanson. He never married or had children. He died at 55 from complications of Diabetes, right after Virginia died. It was so sad. She was very ill with cancer and couldn't attend in Colorado. My mother and I were the only family that was left. Mary's sister Virginia, and her brother Kenneth never married or had children. She was a visiting nurse for the city of Chicago for many years. She took the bus and cabs everywhere. I know Kenneth was engaged twice. The first was stopped because he was a pilot in the Air Force stationed in England and gone to much. I don't know about the second. I always wondered. He was so smart. They were wonderful people. I just adored Virginia. Mary and Clark (we all called him Vernon because his real name was Clarence and when he became a lawyer, the first thing he did was change his name to Clark) lived in Bowie Maryland and worked for the government in D.C. A really important job. Sometimes his office was in the pentagon. All I know was that his one title was undersecretary for somebody that he didn't talk about. He never left the country, because he said it was too much of a hassel. He was 6'3 and my dad was 5'8, go figure. Anyway, their father Michael James Mulvey was called Big Mike. He was Chicago Policeman until he got hurt. He got into some trouble at one time, but it didn't stick. He was still getting a pension when he died in 1953 or 54. I couldn't find his death anywhere, and my mother didn't write it down. I know for years he was working as a private cop for a railroad and another company, My mother said that Viola was a very quiet person and very nice. She loved going places and traveling even if it was only for a few hours. When Mary and Clark lived in New Mexico for quite a few years she went out there once or twice a year to visit. My mom she she took the train. Although everyone did at that time.
Enough chatter. I will see what I can do about sending you that box. I will try for by next week.
As for finding Gordon. I am on Ancestry.com. If you are registered on it, look at my Swanson family tree. that's where we are with the Mulvey's. If you are not. You can do their free trial for 2 weeks and then cancel. That's what I did when I started.
Thanks, Sincerely, Gail Swanson Haehnlein
