He spent a month in a hospital in France before he went back to the front lines.
Tom returned to Oakland and had six children with his wife, Doris: Darleen, Timothy, Robert, Doreen, Debra, and Diana. He stayed in the Army Reserve as captain of the Sixth Army Pistol Team. He was an expert marksman and trained police and FBI officers to shoot. He retired from the Army with the rank of Lt. Colonel. (Tim Chambers)
