Alfred "Steve" Accola, 102, passed away peacefully Wednesday,September 25, 2013 at the Emeritus at East Mesa in Mesa, AZ.
Alfred was born on April 3, 1911, in Alleman, IA to Louis & Carrie(Alleman) Accola. He attended school in Alleman and was baptized andconfirmed in the Salem United Church of Christ in Alleman. He marriedMaybelle Trullinger on November 24, 1937.
He became a well known farmer in the Alleman area, winning manyribbons at the Iowa State Fair and also was the first farmer in Iowato go to 30" corn rows.
Later in life they enjoyed traveling and spending the winters in Mesa,AZ and eventually lived in AZ year around. He was married for 53years. He married again in July of 1994 to Gladys "Jo" Mangis.
He was preceded in death by his parents, four brothers, two wives,sister-in-laws, relatives & friends.
He is survived by many nieces, nephews and their families who havebeen blessed to have him in their lives for so many years. We willmiss him!
A graveside service will be held at the Lincoln Cemetery near Allemanin the near future.
