- Robert J. Spediacci died Monday, April 28, 2008. He was 67.
Born March 31, 1941, to Gene and Mimi Spediacci in San Francisco, Mr. Spediacci lived in the city until after graduation. He then moved to the North Bay and married, then raised four children.
In the late 1970s, he moved to Stockton, where he and his son, Dan, opened a meat department, which they ran together for a decade. He later moved to Angels Camp and opened the Pickle Barrel restaurant. Continuing his love for cooking, he became the head chef at the Murphys Hotel. He spent the rest of his years living in Copperopolis and working with his son's construction business. He and his wife, Linda, enjoyed music and spending time with family.
Mr. Spediacci is survived by his wife, Linda; sisters Jeannie and Judy; sons Dan (Jane) Spediacci of Stockton, Larry (Karen) Maroney of Stockton and Tim Maroney of Whale Gulch; daughter Sherryl Van Sanden of Murphys; and 10 grandchildren.
A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday at Park View Funeral Home, 3661 E. French Camp Road, Manteca, CA 95336. A celebration of Mr. Spediacci's life will follow.
