Richard Fordham Thirkill, 87, passed away on May 26, 2019. With his family at his side. He was born November 13, 1932, to Edwin and Roberta Thirkill. He married his high school sweetheart on August 14, 1953, later to be solemnized in the Salt Lake Temple.
Richard was a very kind, intelligent man, who was very loving and caring. He especially loved his grandchildren. He was an avid outdoorsman, who loved fishing, making his boys fish behind him so they didn't fish out the holes.
Richard served in the U.S. Navy during the Korean War and Vietnam. He retired after 20 years and then worked for ATK. Shortly afterwards he and his wife, Hilma owned and operated R&H Ceramics, where they made many friends all over the U.S.
He was an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, serving as a High Priest, diligent Home Teacher, Cubmaster, Scoutmaster, Sunday School Superintendent, and Young Men's President.
Richard is survived by his wife Hilma, of 66 years, three sons, Wes Thirkill (LuAnn), Greg Thirkill, and Rodney Thirkill (Leana), daughter, Susan Hoss, (Neal), 19 grandchildren, and 47 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, his brother Bob, and grandson Eric.

Viewing will be at the Myers Ogden Mortuary, 845 Washington Blvd. Ogden, UT., Thursday, May 30, 2019, 6:00- 8:00 p.m., and 9:30-10:30 a.m., prior to Funeral services on Friday, May 31st, at 11:00 a.m. at the Evergreen Park Ward, 300 Gramercy Ave. Ogden. With Military Honors.
