Route 3 Merchant Dies Today John William Trollinger. well-known merchant of the Carolina community on Route 3. Burlington, died today at 2:15 a.m. after six years failing health and two weeks critical illness. A native of Alamance County, he was a grocery merchant who spent his life in the Carolina community. He was married for 31 years to Mrs. Helen Trollinger, who survives.
Mr. Trollinger was a charter member of Carolina Christian Church, and had been a deacon since organization of the church. He was Sunday School Superintendent approximately 35 years, and served as president of the Carolina Memorial Association.
He was son of the late Milton G. and Julia Rice Trollinger.
Rev. B. A. Leebrick. the pastor, will conduct the funeral tomorrow at 3 p.m. at Carolina Christian church. Burial will be in Carolina Cemetery. Survivors include his wife of the home: one daughter. Mrs. Ernestine Caviness or Route 3. Burlington: one son. J. W. Trollinger. Jr. of Route 3 Burlington; two sisters Mrs. Cora Dickey and Miss Ida Trollinger of Route 3, Burlington: Burlington: and five grandchildren.
The body was to be carried home today at 4 p.m. It will lie in state at the church for 30 minutes before the funeral.
